Comments
Design Thinking Pros is committed to protecting your right to privacy as a user of our website. It is our policy to respect the privacy of private communication.
Any information you provide to us through this website will be stored on our own secure servers as well as on servers owned by Nexcess, the hosting firm of our website, within their infrastructure, itself subject to extremely high levels of security and compliant with all privacy legislation. Save for redundant replication across Nexcess’ global infrastructure, we will not proactively transfer any information about you, or authorize its transfer, outside of the US for US visitors, and Canada for visitors from Canada.
We collect information about our users in order to help us continually improve the products and facilities we offer and in order to send you articles and other information that you might be interested in (and from which you can unsubscribe at any time).
Design Thinking Pros will always adhere to US and Canada Data Protection Legislation.
Other than as stated below, we do not hold or use any information that you provide, or which we collect, outside the US and Canada Area (“UCA”), nor do we transfer it to, or share it with, others within or outside the UCA (except when we believe in good faith that the law requires it).
This Privacy Policy only relates to the starcoachleadership.com website and does not extend to your use of the Internet outside of our site.
When you leave comments on our website we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Supplying you with information, documents, articles and other content either through the designthinkingpros.com site or via email. You can unsubscribe from receiving future materials. We will never send you any spam and always aim to ensure that our emails will be genuinely useful to recipients.
- Communicating with you. This may include responding to emails or calls from you.
- Building up a profile of your interests and preferences based on your download history. Our processing of your personal data is in our legitimate interest for improving the content on our website and in line with supporting your request for information that you would like to download or have sent to you from our website and Design Thinking Pros in general.
Our use of your personal data is limited to that which is reasonably required in order to provide this information to you and to make improvements to that service, which benefits both us and you. We do not use your personal data for any reasons not stated in this Privacy Policy and never use it in an excessive manner that is disproportionate to our aims of providing and improving our services or in a way that is contrary to your interests.
Your personal data may be used in systems of platform providers for customer relationship management solutions and email campaign management solutions. The agreements we have with these providers ensure that your information is secure here too.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
The personal data that you provide when using our website is retained until you ask us to delete it. If you wish to unsubscribe from receiving information from us you are free to do this at any time. Download histories are retained indefinitely however, unless you ask us to remove your information from our systems completely, which you can request at any time. (We reserve the right to ask you for identification in this case, although in most cases an email from your official address will be sufficient).
Any information that we hold about you will then be removed from our systems.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Changes to this policy
We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time. This may be necessary, for example, if the law changes, or if we change our business in a way that affects personal data protection. We shall maintain this policy under review and the version shown will be our most up-to-date version.
